Biography

The Journey of a Shaolin Warrior

Born into the ancient lineage of Shaolin disciples, Grandmaster Shi Xing Wu is a 32nd Generation Shaolin Monk who began his training as a child under the strict discipline of the Shaolin Temple in Henan, China. From a young age, he embraced the rigorous physical and spiritual teachings that define the life of a monk — mastering not only martial arts, but also Zen meditation, Buddhist philosophy, and traditional Chinese medicine.

His dedication and exceptional skill led him to become a national champion in Wushu competitions across Asia, including a celebrated appearance in the 1996 Japan Wushu Championship. Over the years, his name became synonymous with power, grace, and inner peace — a rare harmony few ever achieve.

After decades of training and teaching in China and abroad, Grandmaster Shi Xing Wu made his home in Canada, where he founded the Xing Wu Zen Temple to continue spreading the Shaolin tradition. He has since guided hundreds of students, offering not only martial skills but also life philosophy through Tai Chi, Qigong, and meditation.

With over 35 years of experience, he now mentors a new generation of instructors under the Antares Shaolin Foundation, ensuring that the lineage of wisdom, strength, and compassion continues far into the future. Whether guiding disciples through a form or teaching stillness through breath, Grandmaster Shi Xing Wu remains a living bridge between East and West, body and spirit, past and present.

True strength comes not from muscle, but from mastery of the mind.

A Life Dedicated to Martial Arts

From his early years in the Shaolin Temple to earning international recognition as a Wushu champion and spiritual teacher, Grandmaster Shi Xing Wu’s journey is a testament to discipline, perseverance, and wisdom. Below is a glimpse into the milestones that shaped his lifelong dedication to martial arts.

Wisdom from the Path of Shaolin

Shaolin is not just movement — it is awareness, intention, and energy. Each punch and step connects body and mind in harmony.

Grandmaster Shi Xing Wu teaches that martial arts is a discipline of the heart, not only the body. His philosophy integrates Zen meditation, breathing techniques, and ancient Shaolin wisdom to guide students toward physical health, emotional balance, and mental clarity. He often reminds his disciples: “Before mastering the fist, master the self.”

Through traditional forms, sparring, and mindfulness, students are led to discover their inner power, respect, and resilience. This philosophy shapes all programs taught under his lineage — from children’s classes to advanced meditation retreats.
